Privacy Policy

This policy is published by RentToRead, a sole proprietorship based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India (“RentToRead”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

1. Information we collect

Parent/guardian name, email, phone and delivery address, collected at signup. Your child's first name and approximate age or reading level, used only to choose suitable books — we never ask for a child's photo, school, full name, or any address beyond where we deliver. Your orders, box history and book ratings. Your messages to us by email, WhatsApp or our website, including with our automated assistant. Standard website usage data (IP address, browser, pages visited). We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our website, through heatmaps and anonymised session recordings. Clarity uses cookies and collects usage data such as clicks, scrolling and pages visited; form entries are never recorded. Microsoft processes this data under its own privacy statement (privacy.microsoft.com).

2. How we use it

To run your membership, choose books, arrange delivery and pickup, send service updates (confirmations, payment notices, pickup reminders), answer your questions, and improve our service. We never use a child's information for advertising, and we collect no more about a child than is needed to pick their books.

3. Consent

By creating an account, a parent or guardian provides this information on their own and their child's behalf and consents to its use as described here. You can withdraw consent for optional uses (like marketing messages) at any time by contacting us.

4. Payments

All payments are processed by Razorpay under PCI-DSS standards — we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.

5. Who we share information with

Only as needed to run the service: Razorpay for payments, our delivery partners to deliver and collect boxes, and service providers who help run our website or send you messages. We never sell personal information, and we never share a child's information with anyone for their own marketing.

6. How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active, and briefly afterward where needed for legal, accounting or dispute purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

7. Your rights

Write to contact@renttoread.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you or your child.

8. Children's privacy

Our service is used by parents and guardians on a child's behalf. We don't knowingly let a child create their own account or contact us directly, and we never use a child's data for targeted advertising.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, though no system is ever completely secure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; changes appear on this page with a new date.
