Terms and conditions
This website is operated by RentToRead, a sole proprietorship based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
1. Who can use this service
This website and our membership are intended to be used by adults (parents or guardians) on behalf of children. By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you are authorised to provide any information about a child included in your order.
2. Our service
RentToRead is a children's book rental membership. We select and deliver a box of books matched to your child's age and interests, and arrange pickup once you're done with them. Books remain our property throughout your membership; there is no security deposit.
3. Membership, billing and renewal
Membership plans are billed in advance for the cycle you choose (3 or 6 months) through our payment partner, Razorpay, and renew automatically at the end of each cycle unless you cancel beforehand. You can cancel your membership, or ask us to adjust a delivery, at any time as described in our Refund Policy.
4. Pricing
Prices for our plans are shown on the website and may change from time to time; a price change will not affect a cycle you have already paid for.
5. Damaged or lost books
Normal wear and tear is never charged. A book lost or damaged beyond repair is charged at the flat rate shown in our Refund Policy, and only ever applied after we've spoken with you.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use this website and service lawfully, and not to misuse it — including not attempting to interfere with its operation, not transmitting harmful code, and not reproducing or reselling any part of our content or service without our written permission.
7. Content and intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, images, and our book curation — belongs to RentToRead or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.
8. Limitation of liability
We provide this service with reasonable care, but to the extent permitted by law, RentToRead is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of our service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always available on this page, and continued use of our service after a change means you accept the update.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
